Beowulf: Book Cover Redesign Contest Winner

This is my entry to a Library Hosted Book Cover Design Contest that won first place. The objective was to take a classic book cover that had a poor design and make it better. I chose Beowulf becuase I feel that existing covers usually depict an old helmet or relic, making the story feel old and dead. I chose to make something more narrative, drawing and designing everything in Illustrator. The original cover is also listed below for reference.
